Barbara Heinrich Studio is a small U.S. based studio which fabricates distinctive contemporary art jewelry. Barbara Heinrich is a German-born and trained artist who holds a Masters degree in jewelry design from the renowned Fachhochschule fuer Gestaltung in Pforzheim and an MFA in metalsmithing from the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, New York.
Most of Barbara’s work is in 18kt yellow gold or platinum and incorporates diamonds and colored stones. It is enhanced with luxurious surface textures imparted by hammering or scratching and roller printing. Her signature “milky way” design incorporates small celestial symbols which are either embossed or pierced (cut) into the metal.
|
Another signature look is the use of granulation which can be seen on Barbara’s rings, earrings, and pendants. Historic elements such as these are always juxtaposed with contemporary forms, and, for this reason, Barbara’s work is often described as “contemporary classic jewelry.”
