Caleb Siemon is defining a new aesthetic in glass blowing with his mixture of contemporary design and centuries old methods. Established in 1999, Caleb Siemon has quickly become an internationally recognized brand in the world of glass blowing. Caleb Siemon was raised in a creative environment and developed a love for ceramics and jewelry making at a young age. It was this that lead him to a summer art camp where he discovered his true passion for glass blowing. In 1993 he was accepted to Rhode Island School of Design, where he was exposed to an international group of artists. Through opportunities at RISD, he studied glass blowing throughout the United States, Hawaii, New Zealand, Japan and Scotland. After graduating with a BFA in glass blowing, Caleb set out for Venice, Italy where he apprenticed for two years with the world renowned master glass sculptor Pino Signoretto. Starting from the bottom, Caleb learned the old ways of the thousand year old Italian tradition and developed a love for its history. Caleb returned to Southern California in 1999 and constructed his own Italian inspired studio, United Glass Blowing. Loris Zanon, a master cold worker, came from Murano to help design and set up the studio's cold shop, where he passed down the secrets of glass carving. Caleb continues to invite Italian masters and international glass blowers to come to California to share their techniques with the next generation of glass artisans. In 2001, Caleb was recognized by the Italian studio Salviati, who brought him back to Venice to design a limited edition series. Caleb's dedication and passion to his medium are the driving forces in his work. His glass continues to catch the attention of international magazines, television, newspaper and collectors. Caleb Siemon glass can be seen in numerous museums and galleries around the world.
