"... a clear and strict order, that is the first impression one obtains from Stefan Bieniek´s paintings. However, when taking a closer look the very subtle pictorial execution strikes the eye. Even though forms are closed in by contour lines there are no rigid strokes. The pen is led by an easy swing, partly traced a couple of times, feeling its way.
The surface is enlivened by an inner structure; fine lines are casually and playfully applied, colors are speckled in a dancing and floating manner."

As a graphic element, Bieniek also uses scripture - his own handwriting in particular. Numbers, titles, descriptive or lyric sentences, poems and even his signature blend in well with the entire composition by enriching various parts of the painting in a molding, easy and fragile manner.

…The receptacle, that which holds everything, is the basis. The artist places leaves and seeds opposite the receptacle as the epitome of the complex and the whole. The seed bears the apple tree; the seed is the "everything"
Stefan Bieniek does not see the shelter and the sheltered as opposites; much more, he plays with the ambivalence and variations of their meaningfulness. It is a repertory of open metaphors, continuously recurring: perhaps once as a humorous side comment, another time as a central statement.
